My Check Engine or Service Engine Soon Light is on, but my car runs fine, do I still need to have it checked out?
The Check Engine or Service Engine Soon Light is the engine computer’s only way to tell you that it has found something wrong with one of its sensors or the parts that it controls. There are literally over 2000 things that could cause the computer to “set a code” and turn the Check Engine Light on. That code (or codes) that shows up is not always the real cause, just what the computer thinks is wrong. And it takes skill and technical knowledge to determine what the true cause of the Check Engine Light is. Sometimes it is as simple as a loose gas cap or getting gas with the engine running. Other times it is something that could potentially leave you stranded. It is the general opinion of Moore Automotive that you should always properly maintain your vehicle for safety and reliability. So in short, “Yes, you should always schedule an appointment as soon as possible to have your check engine light diagnosed, not just scanned.”

My Brakes are making noise, should I be concerned?
There are two basic noises you may hear noise from your brakes, squealing and grinding. All brakes create harmonic vibrations or noise. However there are materials and steps to take to eliminate those vibrations and quiet the noise. A squeal from your brakes may be caused by a poorly done brake job, or your brakes might be worn to the point where the wear indicator tabs are scraping and creating the squeal. Grinding is a whole different matter. When your brakes grind typically you have used up all of your brake pads or shoes and now are actually forcing the metal part of the brakes against the rotor or drum. This is very dangerous, and can become very costly, fast. So any noise from your brakes is unacceptable and should be inspected at your earliest convenience. At MOORE Automotive we are brake experts and take pride in providing you excellent brake service, Guaranteed!

I just bought a brand new car. Can I still bring to Moore Automotive? Yes! Every car, even brand new ones require regular oil changes and maintenance during the warranty period and beyond. The good news is that routine maintenance does not have to be performed by the dealer to meet your new car warranty requirements. Our technicians are ASE certified to perform all the manufacturers’ recommended services and insure the manufacturers’ warranty remains in effect. The warranty simply requires that you perform the factory recommended maintenance services at the appropriate mileage intervals. Regular service bulletins and publications keep us on top of the service game.

I have an extended warranty, can you do those repairs?
YES! Unless your warranty specifically states otherwise you can have your repairs performed by any licensed repair facility. Moore Automotive will gladly review your extended warranty paperwork with you, and handle the entire authorization and submission process. You are only responsible to pay for items not covered by the warranty, and your deductible, if you have one. Moore Automotive will be happy to cover this with you before any repairs are done so you have no surprises.

Do you do oil changes?
Yes we do all maintenance work recommended by your vehicle’s manufacturer. We may be a little more expensive than the quick lubes, but you will get a thorough vehicle inspection and a full estimate of repairs recommended to help keep your car in a safe, reliable condition. Now isn’t that peace of mind worth a few extra minutes of your time.
